Church Hosts Mass Casualty Drill in Kensington Churchill

(TNS) – People who live or work in the area of Kensington Church in Clinton Township may see extra emergency vehicles and first responders Wednesday that are part of a mass casualty incident training exercise.

The Macomb County EMS Medical Control Authority will host a full-scale drill from 9-11 a.m. at Kensington, located at 25000 Hall Road (east of Gratiot Avenue ) in Clinton Township.

Brandon Lewis , director of Macomb’s Emergency Management and Communications , said more than 200 people are scheduled to participate in the drill.


“The purpose of this exercise is to comprehensively exercise and evaluate the readiness and capabilities of emergency medical services as they pertain to a mass casualty incident,” Lewis said in a news release.

The exercise is being conducted by the Macomb County EMS Medical Control Authority , along with the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office, Clinton Township Fire/EMS, and Macomb County Emergency Management . All EMS agencies and some hospitals in Macomb County are also taking part in the event.

People in the area will see police vehicles, fire trucks, ambulances, and other emergency equipment as well as many uniformed first responders but should not call 911, loiter in the area or attempt to interfere with the exercise.
