
447K Still Without Power After Texas Storm
(TNS) – Rising temperatures Saturday replaced earlier wind warnings and calls to avoid power lines as recovery began after a Thursday thunderstorm that lashed through the Houston area with wind speeds greater than 100 mph, killing at least seven people and leaving hundreds of thousands without power.

The Houston Community College Southeast Campus is hosting a supply dispersal event from 2 p.m. to approximately 4 p.m. Sunday. Visitors can pick up fruit, water and food alongside cleaning products, diapers and other items at 6815 Rustic.
The event may end early or later than 4 p.m. depending on how long as supplies last.
CenterPoint has fewer than 450k customers without power
As of 5 p.m., the utility said its crews had restored more than 252,000 customers, leaving 447,550 without electricity. Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo said the aim is for 90 percent of customers to have power by the end of Wednesday.
